Synopsis
Penny’s life was in a rut. She had been in the same small town diner for decades—watching others live and love and have adventures—but nothing ever changed for her. Of course, it’s hard to get on with your life when you’re dead. Penny must face a journey from her comfortable but unfulfilled after-life existence to the willingness to embrace what lies ahead for her now. The new ghost in town, the ridiculously handsome, wild biker Jake Thatcher, will stir up feelings Penny thought had been buried with her. She will learn that love (and the desire for it) never dies. But she will also need more than a gentle push to move her life forward—to be willing to let go of false responsibilities and move into The Light. It will require drastic measures from Jake and psychic intervention from Angelina the Magnificent. In the end, Penny will finally be ready to open her heart to the love that the universe still has waiting for her.
excerpt

Jake did not take the news well, but he did better than some. Penny and the others waited without comment while reality sunk in.

Penny had been through this hundreds of times—stood at this counter, witnessed them suddenly arrive, served up a bowl of ice cream, and helped as best she could. Sometimes they moved on quickly, gone before saying a word. Other times, like with Jake and so many young ones, the transition didn’t go so smoothly. It probably didn’t help that this boy was handsome and still filled with adventure and life.

From the look of him he couldn’t be much more than twenty years old. He was going to cling to what he had with all his might. It was written on every inch of him from his wild, brown hair to his black riding boots. Clinging and resisting would be dangerous. Even more dangerous than speeding along Highway 62 on a motorcycle.

Jake was different from anyone else who had passed through the diner. Penny could sense it the minute he appeared. Every individual has a life-force. If you are paying attention, you can feel it in the air around them. Jake had more of a life-tsunami.

Blam! His arrival had sent out a shock wave that vibrated right through Penny’s whole being. She was grateful that he had been disoriented for a minute because it took her that long to regain her composure. From the startled looks they had shot in her direction, Katie and Silas felt it too.

Jake emanated freshness, vitality, and an overwhelming sense of masculine rebellion. No one would dispute the fact that the young biker was ridiculously handsome. There was no denying it. Penny had noticed it when he had visited the diner before. He may not have been able to see her then, but she had most certainly seen him. His charisma and charm enveloped a room the minute he swaggered in, and even a ghost sitting on the sidelines couldn’t help but be impressed.

But now that she was faced with his presence on the verge of moving on to whatever lay ahead, all of that was more of a liability than an asset.

Penny had a job to do. The anger and resistant energy bouncing off the walls of the diner had to be controlled and contained. A dish of ice cream, even the deliciousness of chocolate Bluebell Ice Cream, might not be enough to get the job done this time. Penny needed to be calm and firm and clear. Jake had been given a window of opportunity to adjust to his death, but she doubted it would last for long. This young man was going to need all the help she could muster.

This story is based on her true-life crazy cat and the other cats in her home…and the idea that they are all really part of an alien race from another planet. In October of 2013, “Why Kimba Saved The World” was honored with a Moonbeam Children’s Book Award as “Best First Book — Chapter Book,” Bronze Medal. It will be available through Pen-L Publishing. Pen-L will also publish her YA and teen-focused biography of her hero, actress and philanthropist Betty White, in 2016.

For over 10 years, Meg worked as a freelance writer, including a year as a columnist for www.religionandspirituality.com, where she wrote movie commentaries and interviews. After decades in Michigan, she and her family moved to Houston, Texas, in 2005. Synopsis
Keeping secrets is a horrible way to live. Sloane Davis should know.
She’s kept her son a secret from his father for almost a year.

Now, her worst nightmare is coming true. Her ex is re-entering her professional life in the midst of the biggest project of her career. She’s about to come face to face with the only man she’s ever loved – her son’s father.

Gates McCall is a brash man. He hasn’t always been this way, but when Sloane walked out on him, something inside him broke. When his company’s newest acquisition brings the two of them together once more, little does he know seeing her will bring back a flood of memories, feelings, and an unexpected surprise.

excerpt
“Hey, come back to the here and now. Sloane come on, we have to focus. Are you going to be able to do this?” Liyah snapped her fingers in front of Sloane to get her attention. “Sloane? Sloane?”
“Oh, Liyah, I’m sorry. What were you saying?” Just as Liyah was about to answer her, she quieted and Sloane followed her gaze toward the door where her unbelievably handsome ex-fiancé stood.
“Santo cielo.” Liyah breathed and stood straighter, adjusting her jacket.
“He’s just a man in a suit,” Sloane said, trying to convince herself more than Liyah that he was just a man in a suit. She busied herself by stacking and reorganizing an already organized stack of papers. She could feel one single bead of sweat slowly meander its way down her back. But Gates’ magnetic pull soon had her staring at his deep-set hazel orbs. She tried to look away, but there was something about this man who was able to suck her in like cake flour through a sieve.
“He is so not just a man in a suit.” Liyah swallowed hard, shaking her head at Sloane’s dismissal of him. “I’m beginning to understand why you’re so nervous about this. Wow. You know, I didn’t realize how much Brayden looks like him.”
“Shh, keep your voice down.” Sloane tried to move, to blink, to do anything, but her body betrayed her wishes and she could only stare as Gates mingled through the room before he stopped near the two of them. She felt the individual hairs on her neck called to attention as his deep voice rumbled over her.
“Liyah, hello. It’s been a while. Sloane.” Finally regaining her faculties Sloane pulled herself up to her full height of 5 feet 6 inches and smiled. The unmistakable maleness of him filled her senses as she looked into those familiar eyes. Prickly chills scampered up her spine as she stood face to face with the father of her baby boy.
“Hi, Gates.” Liyah interjected, trying to break the obvious awkwardness.
“Gates, it’s good to see you again.” Sloane stammered while inwardly cowering under his intense gaze.
“Is it really?” Smirking, Gates continued past her to meet and shake hands with a few of the representatives from the various companies with bids on the table.
“Okay, so that went well.” Both ladies turned to watch him weave through the crowd of people as he headed towards the front of the room before Liyah turned to Sloane. “You up for this?”
“I don’t have much choice, do I? I guess he really does hate me.” Sloane swallowed the big lump of nerves in her throat and tried to pull herself together for what she knew was going to be the fight of her life. She and Liyah took their seats as the meeting got underway and she was never so glad to sit down. Her legs felt weak and her stomach was queasy. If it weren’t for the fact she hadn’t been with anyone since Gates, she would have sworn she was experiencing morning sickness all over again.
“Maybe not so much hate, as maybe severe dislike.”

Synopsis

The man of your dreams is coming… or is it your nightmares he visits? Laen is Prince of the Dark fae, with a temper and reputation to match his black eyes, and a heart that despises the human race. When he is sent back through the forbidden gates between realms to retrieve an ancient fae artifact, he returns home with far more than he bargained for.

excerpt

He heard her gasp and saw her fists clench with rage. Good, he wanted her to be angry. It was in anger that she would reveal her true nature.
“Where is the rest of it?”
He watched as Océane tore her eyes from her precious book to glare at him. “What do you mean? That’s all there is.”
“Liar!” he snarled, snatching up the board she had been working on at the museum. There was a half-finished painting of the dagger on it and a chapter heading: The Dark Prince is Lost.
“What is the meaning of this?” he demanded, his voice low and menacing. He watched her face fall as she saw that he had taken the illustration she had been working on at the museum as well as the book.
“It’s just a story,” she said, looking up at him with those big eyes and holding her hands out helplessly. “I had no idea it was your story.” Her voice was pleading and to his disgust he found a part of him wanted to believe her. “I … I thought I was making it up, honestly.”
“What do you know of honesty?” He sneered. “Very well, and supposing I pretend to believe this … preposterous idea, tell me, what happens next?”
He watched the alarm on her face and knew she was hiding something, that she knew something. Before she had time to come up with a decent story, to tell the lies that dripped so easily off the tongues of humans, he acted. He grabbed her by the wrists and slammed her up against the wall. He was so close; he knew she would feel his breath on her face, and he wondered if it were possible for her to actually die of fear as her heart surely could not survive at the rate it was beating against his chest.
“I can see your mind turn, trying to come up with a lie,” he whispered against her ear. “Please do not bother. I will get to the truth, sooner or later, and believe me when I say you will not like my methods of reaching it.” He deliberately looked her over, his eyes lingering on the low neck line of her dress, knowing full well what he was implying and despising himself for it. And yet he couldn’t stop his gaze from raking over her. He looked back at the terror in her eyes and had to remind himself over and again of everything he was protecting. It was so much harder than he would have believed not to touch her with more gentleness than he was doing now. He wondered what it would be like for her to look at him with something other than fear and hatred.
Before he had time to question either his thoughts or his actions, there was a commotion outside the door of the library and raised voices. The door swung open and Laen cursed as the man who entered quickly took in the scene in front of him and the unguarded look in Laen’s eyes.
A delighted smile played over the curve of the intruder’s mouth. “Oh, my dear fellow, do forgive me the interruption. The guards told me you were interrogating a prisoner, but I see they were quite mistaken.”
Laen dropped Océane as though she had burned him, and quickly arranged his face into a more suitable expression. “The guards were perfectly correct, Corin,” he growled, glaring at Océane with hatred.
Corin scrutinised him, his interest piqued. “Well nonetheless, please do not forget your manners. Won’t you introduce me to your charming captive?” He turned to give Océane the benefit of a devastating smile.
Laen’s furious glare drifted from Océane and back to Corin, scowling harder as he saw the way his friend’s warm gaze lingered on her and the returning gleam in Océane’s eyes. He cursed with fury when he saw the realisation dawn on her face. She had finally found a powerful ally.

As a child I spent more time than I’m going to admit to wishing I was Samantha from Bewitched. Yet despite hours spent perfecting the nose twitch; sadly I have to say that – so far at least – no magical ability has been discovered. Now I have to say it’s looking unlikely, but remain hopeful. I was born in Kent in the UK and moved to France in 1998. I currently live, according to my husband, in LALA land but the rest of the time in the middle of nowhere in darkest Dordogne, as far from the real world as possible. I’m married with three daughters and a wild imagination. I like Tarot cards and anything creepy… except spiders. I worship at the altar of Florence + the Machine and am addicted to music, as long as it’s LOUD! I love chocolate, think The Wizard of Oz is the scariest film I’ve ever seen and still believe in faeries.

excerpt

“What the hell are you doing here? Are you stalking me now?” I snapped.
I attempted to remove his hand, but the effort behind it was marginal. Everything within me relished his hands all over me. My knees became weak with the heavy want coursing between my legs. My upper body constricted with my wayward needs. Ethan tightened his grip as he whirled me around so that my back was on his front. The music shifted to a slow, deliberate song that was fitting for my predicament. I cursed Usher underneath my breath for coming out with this song. Ethan had buried me into his body. It was impossible not to notice his hardness. He ran his hands down the front of my thighs until he hit bare skin.
“It’s hard to stalk someone when they’re in the club that you own,” he shot back.
“You own this place?” I stammered.
“I have a vested interest, so I come in on occasion. You can imagine my surprise when I discovered you were here,” he remarked.
My concentration was dwindling with every stroke he made upon my body. Ethan continued running his hands up and down my thighs, causing my heart to beat out of my chest. I bit my lip to keep from moaning from the pleasure when his fingers lingered towards the inside. My hands took on a mind of their own as they slid down his waist and thighs. His breaths trickled across my neck. It heightened the erotic dance south of me. I was in the danger zone with him. I fought to find my rational side to avoid undressing for him right then and there. My mind grasped at the few functioning brain cells to keep him talking. It was my last line of defense to keep him from kissing me.
“Why are you so upset?”
“I’m angry because you keep denying me when it’s clear you want me. To top it off, you come to my club and dance with countless men right in front of me,” Ethan growled.
He ran his nose down my neck before licking away a bead of sweat. I gasped. The hand that he had moved to my waist slipped underneath my top. He caressed my belly before running his fingers further down, making every ounce of me come to a dull ache. Against my will, my body moved in ways to encourage him to travel further south to take full advantage of me. Ethan’s hands settled along my waistline, lazily trailing his fingers along it. My mind screamed one last time that this was not an option for me. In a lastditch attempt, I paused his hands so he wouldn’t go any further. Ethan whipped me around to face him. The passion in his eyes was unmistakable.
“I’m trying to do the right thing,” I moaned.
His hands drifted underneath my shirt and up my sides on their way north this time. As he progressed along my rib cage to the lower line of my bra, he moved us off the dance floor. Ethan pushed me up against a pillar at the far end of it. He brought his body right into mine. He tossed in an occasional thrust of the hips as he pinned me, just to remind me how very well he knew my body. Ethan cupped my breast with tender strokes of his hand before pressing his lips on a spot underneath my ear lobe. It was enough to melt every part of me. I was throbbing all over for him.
“You want me. I want you. I don’t care what’s right or wrong,” Ethan hissed.
I tilted my neck as he trailed deep kisses down my collarbone and exposed shoulder. I wanted him so much that it was close to making me burst. I moaned even louder when his teeth grazed the crook of my shoulder. He sucked along my neck with eagerness, making no effort to hold back his want for me. I slanted my head to bring my lips vigorously down on his. My tongue drifted across the top of his mouth before his tongue met mine where they danced to the beat with the music around us. My hands moved down to his hips as he pumped against me. I slid them even further down to his ass. Ethan responded by grinding harder and grabbing one of my legs to raise it around his hip.
Our bodies melded together in an erotic dance as our mouths devoured each other. I lost myself in the music, in his lips, in his body, in his hands, and in the desires he brought out in me. His hands ran up and down my body while his lips and hips brought me to the point of no return.
