All I’ve ever had is myself. I can’t tell you who I am, where I came from, or who I’m fucking made of. I was ripped from the only happy I’d ever known, but I can’t recall what it was…I just know part of me is now void, left hollow.

How do you know who you are if you don’t even know your own flesh and blood?

How do you trust those in your life, when the deception lies among you?

How do you know if you don’t belong if you’re in the only place you’ve ever called home?

There was nothing I could do but survive…in my own way.

This is my story…this is Where the Ivy Hides.

Blog Tour + Review + Interview – Roman’s Redemption (Roman #2) by Kimber S. Dawn

  Roman’s Redemption
Roman Book II
by
Kimber S. Dawn

I once told you, “Every sin I commit, every life I end, every soul I purchase, I do so to watch in gratifying amusement as it fades out. I’ve taken these lives with whole and complete intentions of watching my sins and transgressions affect and alter the life of others.”
I’m afraid those words no longer hold even a thread of truth.
The man you once knew is now nothing more than a ghost.
The blood staining my hands is no longer a consequence of my amusement.
I have become pure evil. The blood you see is the result of my visceral need to hinder the torment and desolation left in my wife’s wake.
If you are foolish enough to believe all men are worthy of redemption, even those of us born evil, take my hand and allow me to show you what I believe about Redemption.
For this is, after all Roman’s Redemption.

4-stars
I’m not even sure where to beginning. After reading Roman book 1 I was practically left speechless. Then we move on to Roman’s Redemption which is full of twists, turns, lies, and betrayals. We catch up with what happened at the end of Roman and jump right into things. For the most part Roman hasn’t changed a bit in the beginning and it is only his daughter’s love that starts to pull him back from the edge. We learn more about characters such as his housekeeper, Sebastian, and Lizabeth. We get multiple POVs including Heather’s and Roman’s. You read this book and you think to yourself how much more can one person take before there is nothing left to take? Roman’s Redemption will leave you wanting the rest of the story and luckily there is a third installment to finish this trilogy off. Dark and gritty and full of shock and awe moments, if you’re a fan of Kimber than you’ll be a fan of this book.

 Interview

1. When did you know you had a passion for writing?
When I was in the 8th grade…After Michael from A Woman Gone Mad. Remember, that’s when Lil started writing 😉
2. How do you come up with your books?
Jesus baby Christmas, I have no idea! Hahaha
I guess they come to me. A lot don’t make the cut unfortunately.
3. Which book was the most difficult to write?
Roman: Book 1
He was so unlike any of my other characters and so dead set on how it should be written. No contractions. Very little cursing. His sentences were all clipped and direct. Grrrrrr.
4. Out of all the characters you’ve written so far, who is your favorite?
Stella. Hands down, all day, everyday. For reasons a very few are able understand.
5. What are you working on next?
A FUNNY BOOK!!! Think The Sweetest Thing, Bridesmaid’s, and Sex in the City!!! Super stoked!
6. Where do you see your writing career in the next 5 years?
Hahahaha
At the rate I’m going probably dead or well past it. The politics and cut throat mentality are sometimes too much to consider continuing. Nobody likes to ask themselves, “Why am I even doing this?”
I was born and raised in
Louisiana… and No, I do NOT live in a bayou, I actually see the beaches on the
gulf coast more than I see a bayou, lol. I started writing poems and short
stories very early in my life. You know, for the Michael’s and Leo’s and Nick’s
in my life. I’ve been a book hoarder since I was eleven years old, but then a
couple years ago something wonderful happened! The 50 Shades of Grey craze
brought to life my inner smut whore and I commenced to read anything and
everything smut affiliated. When reading wasn’t enough anymore and I noticed
that so many of the authors of my favorite indie authors and their books
weren’t getting the exposure their work deserved, I turned it into a mission,
starting my own blog, buying their books and reading them one by one. I then
wrote my reviews for my blog and didn’t hold back in writing them (Hell yeah
those motherfuckers are profanity laden). I’ve never done a single thing in my
life halfway. I always go all in. After the success of my Blog, and the
insistence of one of my bestest friends, my sister from another mister, Trina
Taylor of Bad & Dirty Books, I was ready to finally take the plunge and see
if I could write a book that was worth a damn. I’m a Southern girl to my core,
a self-proclaimed smut whore, and I keep hearing that I’m an author, but
honestly… I don’t believe the rumors, lol. I don’t feel like a kickass bitch
spittin’ out lyrics, or stories, like a motherfuckin’ rockstar.
Tattooed across my ribs are the
words I have always lived by: ‘Aut viam inveniam aut faciam tibi.’ Latin for:
If I cannot find a way, I will make my own.

Deserves more than 5 stars!!!!
Wow yet again Kimber has done it again with Roman’s Redemption,
I didn’t think anything could top Roman but I was wrong, truly amazing, Kimber has a gift at telling dark, twisted and gritty reads, I was hooked from the first page.
One thing i am absolutely sure of i hated Seb all through the book, I had different thoughts on Roman, one minute i hated him the next minute I loved him and truly felt for him, one thing that did stay constant with me was i loved Heather, Mac, Mace she was kick ass.
Not for people who don’t read dark books as it isn’t for the faint hearted but i will say you really don’t know what you are missing if you don’t read this book!!!! ~Gemma

Wow wow wow. This was just as good as the first book, another amazing job. Kimber Dawn definitely has away of sucking you in!! I can’t say it enough both of these books are absolutely amazing! Dark as hell but what a great read. I couldn’t put it down. I stayed up all night just to see
what was happening next. If you like dark and I do mean really dark this one was fantastic. ~Nina
Kimber is sick and twisted and I love her mind, but I hate it just as much.
Never in my life have I hated 2 word more. The dislike I have for 6 little letters, THE END, is monumental. Normally, I’d want to ask why, but I realize your sick and twisted mind wouldn’t tell me. In the end, I have to admit, I love the evil that is Roman William Payne even more now than when I first met him. For the life of me I have no idea why.
This book is dark, so if you want or prefer sweet, don’t attempt this. You’ll want to run for the hill and pray to God to clean your mind just for looking this way. But if you enjoy the company of the little devil that’s parked on everyone of our shoulders, if you like the dark side of the tracks then by all means, go meet Roman.
Kimber is like the Rob Zombie of the book world. That’s how I see her. Dark, twisted, and messed the hell up. I’m totally girl crushing on her yet again.
Woman, you rock! ~ Nancy

Blog Tour + Review – Roman by Kimber S. Dawn

This is the Blog Tour for:

Roman is a man of little words and lesser morals. He’s a man who accepted his demons long before the average person even realized they had any. Roman has never felt emotions like guilt, shame, or remorse. Roman has also never felt love, sympathy, or compassion.
Jaded for reasons unknown with more money at his disposal than he knows what to do with, Roman’s walk to the dark side began long before his first kill.He will taunt you, he will make you hope and watch in amusement as you fall for him, believing you’re the one who can save his soul. Believing you’re the one who can get through because the other twelve failed, you’ll know to the marrow of your bones how lucky being number thirteen really is…

How do I know all of this? Because, my name is Heather Mackenzie and I’ve been number thirteen for a lot longer than I ever intended to be.

Roman…Roman…Roman. Where do I even begin with you? I’m truly at a loss for words. Kimber is an amazing author. Just when you think you know how the story’s going to go…BAM! She smacks you in the face with a twist you never saw coming. I don’t have enough words to adequately describe the mind fuck that is Roman. Rich, good looking, and used to getting what he wants, it seems he’s met his match with Heather. I can’t say too much on this one without giving away the entire storyline so I’ll say this…be prepared to engage in a roller coaster ride that will at times having you begging to get off and at others having you giddy with excitement. There were times I wanted to smack the shit out of not only Roman but Heather but love can make you do things you never thought you could do…and holy crap that ending. I need the next part of this story ASAP and the prologue for the next book only further brought out the WTFs out of my mouth. We end Roman with our mouths hanging wide open and wondering what the hell just happened…
Who is Kimber?
Shit, sometimes even I don’t know. However if I had to type up an author bio (which, son of a bitch, I do) this is how it would read. BTW, caught a lot of shit for this author bio. Really don’t give a fuck though, because I was asked to type up a bio. And if I can only say one thing for certain about myself, it’s this: I’m real, I don’t back down from what I believe, I say what I mean, and I mean what I say. I don’t bite my tongue and I never try to hide the ugly parts of who I am… You either love me or hate me, but if you love me… I’ll always be loyal, no fucking matter what 😉
I can be called a billon different things—daughter, mother, labor unit nurse, queen bitch, best friend, a lover, and a fighter. I’ve recently gone through some shit in my life I would have never believed possible, much less believed I would survive and come out conquering feats of which aren’t usually met by a small town southern girl. Either fucking way, I came out on top and stronger than before, and though I’ve been through hell and back, I’m still just lil ole me… a book blogger, book pimp, and a book whore. My two indulgences remain to be my Jack’s in life…Jack Daniel’s and Blackjack. My biggest dream, the day I’ll acknowledge that I’ve succeeded in life and can I die a happy woman, is the day I get to go two stark-naked hour-round sexual bouts with Jason Statham. *Sighs*
