New Year, New Possibilities

photo 1This year has been a pretty long one. I like to think that each year brings new challenges and possibilities. This one will be no different. This year I’ve published my first book Dark Indiscretions, I’ve buckled down on school work and the end is in sight seeing as I only have 6 to complete my BA in Psychology starting in Jan. I made the decision to get PRK eye surgery and everyday I’m loving the results and the ease of waking up and not having to find my glasses or worried about if they are scratched or not. I’ve ended some friendships. Some much needed, while others came at a surprise. You live you learn. I’ve reached my last year of my 20s. Not a big deal because I don’t look a day over high school sometimes anyway so 30’s not a big deal. I’ve taught myself many things that I didn’t think possible or wouldn’t have in the past. I’m happier and more carefree. I hope to continue the trend in 2014.

Speaking of 2014 I’ve got some serious things going on. My Book Blast begins in February. Reviews will pour in around March. My first visit to Boston before I move to look at purchasing my first condo. Hoping to have my second novel published in my current series and hopefully a new one started. I want to write more poetry and possible publish that as well. I will take my writing to a much higher level by challenging myself to do the impossible. I want to read more than I read this year and embrace this era of social media that has befallen our generation. I will be a college graduate and a new grad student. My commitment to the AF will be over and a new chapter will begin in Boston. A new city with a fresh start and unlimited possibilities. I plan to work/volunteer with trouble children. Help those who can’t help themselves. I will stay away from unhealthy relationships, be that friendships or romantic. I will put myself first before all others because you can’t help anyone if you don’t take care of yourself first. I hope to get in touch with more indie authors like myself. I hope to grow my little Facebook Series Page into a big deal. I plan to push myself to my limit in 2014 and even then keep doing impossible things and making them possible.

Endless possibilities with the only limits being the ones I set for myself. No longer allowing others to decide what my future will or won’t be.

What about you? What possibilities are you hoping for in 2014? Nothing is unreachable. The only person on this Earth that can stop you from reaching your goals is yourself.

Stats From Free Kindle Promo on Amazon

The ending total of books downloaded for my free kindle promotion was 559. It’s a pretty big number but I was hoping for more. Ended up in the top 8 of Free Gay Fiction before it was over which was pretty cool. Hopefully that helps increase sales now that it is back to regular price. Made the charts in other countries as well. Here are a few snapshots. They aren’t the last ones but from the second day the book was on promotion. From the US, CANADA, and some EUROPE countries. Wish I would have remember to snap them from the last day but next time!

Blog Hop

What better way then to say farewell to 2013 than with a Blog Hop! I was tagged by Elaine White author of Runaway Girl. You can see what she’s doing at her Facebook, Goodreads, or Twitter.

The blog hop works like this. Elaine tagged me, so I answer the four blog hop questions in my blog, which I will link to Elaine’s answers to the same questions on her blog. Then I will reach out to five random authors to continue the hop!

And my answers are…

WHAT ARE YOU WRITING?

Right now I am writing the second book in my Dark Indiscretions Series. I’m writing notes all over the place as scenes come to me. The last book was ‘easy’ as I was able to write it chapter by chapter in order. This one is doing it’s own thing. I kind of like it though because I have no idea what’s going on like the last one. I’ll be just as surprised as everyone else with the twists and turns book 2 is taking. I’m also in the planning stage of a new series. The characters are whispering in my head almost over what I’m working on now. I find that I have to stop and write down what they are saying or I won’t get anything else done.

HOW DOES THIS DIFFER FROM YOUR LAST WORK?

Dark Indiscretions: Monster Unleashed is a bit more darker. By darker I mean the main character has gone so far off the rails of what she was taught and decided to give in to who she was born to be. She no longer tries to fight what she is. She embraces who she is and her powers. She will do whatever she wants because she’s one of the baddest paranormals to ever walk the Earth. It is still a paranormal romance/thriller. The second series that I’m working on is still a paranormal but a bit different. I’m venturing on more than the werewolf and vampire into a world or witches and elves. I’m pretty excited.

WHY DO YOU WRITE?

I write because I couldn’t imagine life without doing so. Even if I never shared what I wrote with the world or published it, I would still write. It’s the easiest way for me to release the feelings and thoughts that roam around in my head all day long. It’s like breathing to me. My writing is an extension of me. It’s the quickest way for someone to know what I’m feeling without me saying the words. Especially my poetry. The novels I write for fun because it’s what I enjoy reading. The poetry is like my diary.

WHAT IS YOUR PROCESS?

My process was just sit down and write. One chapter at a time until I reached the end. Now it’s a bit different. I have notes all over the place of different scenes and not necessarily in order. My phone is full of notes written down whenever a character speaks to me. I’m always trying out new processes. I don’t however feel the need to outline my writing. I just like to let it flow. I think out the plot that I want to have for the book first and everything else is just gravy. The characters having fun in between the main point of the story. I already know how it’s going to end and who’s going to be doing what and what they are trying to accomplish. Everything else is just putting it all together in one place in some semblance of sense. I’m not really big on surprises in my personal life but I see in my writing things that I didn’t even know were going to happen until they happened. After I wrote the first book in the Dark Indiscretions Series I already knew what some of the characters would be doing in the second one. Questions that the readers will have from the first I already know the answers that will be revealed in the second. It’s a fun ride the whole way through and I’m delighted to share my made up world with everyone else.

Well for my first blog hop not too bad. Hope you enjoyed this stop on the Blog Hop!

Looking Through The Looking Glass

20131219-112957.jpg

Looking through the looking glass
I saw my life
I saw my past
Heartbreak
Sorrow
Blinding fear
All those times I tried to hold you near
To my heart
What a bad start
To a road that disappeared
From sight
Looking through the looking glass
I saw my life
My here
My now
Triumph
Stronger
Made from steel
Everything just seems unreal
Things I’ve done
I never thought possible
Look at me I’ve become unstoppable
Looking through the looking glass
I saw my life
The future I wish to have
It’s soon to be within my grasp
Love
Success
My dreams come true
Only thing I see when I close my eyes at night
Is you
By my side
Full of pride
For me
Looking through the looking glass
I saw my life
It wasn’t so bad

Broken

New poem

My soul screams out in sadness
My heart screams out in pain
A head that should know better
A heart that dares to hope again
A feeling that speaks of yearning
Of wanting to love again
A heart that has been shattered
Well beyond repair
A dream of things to far from reach
Of sorrows broken free
On wings of eagles soaring high
To heal what some can’t see
A smile no longer hides the sorrow
When laughter fades from both my eyes
The soothing sounds of music no longer sing to me
My mind can only touch darkness
Happiness seems to far to reach
A body almost too battered
To be what it was meant to be
